Heads‑up for installers

  • Use HWK-688-PP hardware kit if you're running a Synergy MFG track bar brace or similar reinforcement. Factory hardware may not provide adequate clearance or engagement.
  • Big Bore XD® steering gear is significantly larger than OE. Verify clearance with aftermarket track bars, braces, and suspension components before final installation.
  • Steering gear weighs approximately 57 lbs. A helper is strongly recommended during installation.
  • This system must be installed as a complete PSC steering system using the PSC pump, steering gear, reservoir, SR-VT, cooler, and supplied hoses to maintain warranty coverage.
  • Torque specifications:
    - Pitman arm nut: 220-240 ft-lbs
    - Steering gear mounting bolts: 87 ft-lbs
    - Steering shaft coupler pinch bolt: 33 ft-lbs
    - High-pressure hose fittings: 25 ft-lbs
    - SF11 return port adapter: 20 ft-lbs
    - Pump mounting bolts: 25 ft-lbs
    - Reservoir bracket mounting bolt: 6-8 ft-lbs
  • Includes 4 quarts of PSC 715 Power Steering Fluid.
  • Follow the included bleeding procedure before operating the vehicle.
  • TRU BLUE® may be used for future service intervals.

But it seems like the new pump lacks sufficient volume to handle sharp left to right turns or there’s something in gearbox design that is causing this issue of brief but much increased effort to turn to right from left. But parts appear to be well made though. Instructions are well done except for one step where we cut old tubing. It’s unclear location. Had to make two cuts before it could be removed"
