The stock CJ steering gear was fine back when 31s were “big tires.” But if you’re running 35s, a locker, and real trails, that old box is out of its league. The BIG BORE XD Cylinder Assist Gear is built for serious steering muscle—bigger piston, stronger case, and ports machined right into the housing for PSC’s Cylinder Assist system.

This isn’t a reman. It’s 100% new, with billet aluminum top and end caps, and a variable ratio that keeps it stable on the road but strong in the rocks. If you want your CJ to steer like it should—on the street and on the trail—this is the box.
