If you’re tired of sloppy steering or fighting big tires on your Super Duty or Excursion, PSC’s BIG BORE XD Steering Gear is the upgrade you’ve been waiting for. This isn’t a rebuilt box—it’s a completely new design built from the ground up to handle serious off-road and towing demands.

The SG752 features a larger sector shaft and beefed-up internal bearings for smoother steering and better durability. It works with factory and aftermarket pitman arms, and it’s a direct bolt-in for 1999–2005 Ford trucks and SUVs.

Need more turning power? Go with the Cylinder Assist® Ready version (SG752R). It’s ported to work with PSC’s Cylinder Assist system, giving you the torque to turn big tires with ease—even when your diffs are locked.

Heads‑up for installers

  • For 7.3L trucks, check the production date on the driver-side door placard to confirm fitment.
  • Use the included high-pressure hose assembly to connect to the hydro-boost unit.
  • If adding Cylinder Assist®, pair with PSC kit SK752-7.3.
  • Steering gear weighs approximately 50 lbs. A helper is recommended during installation.
  • Existing pitman arm must be transferred to the new steering gear.
  • Torque specifications:
    o Pitman arm nut: 200 ft-lbs
    o Steering gear mounting bolts: 111 ft-lbs
    o Steering column connection: 15 ft-lbs
    o Drag link nut: 129 ft-lbs
  • Use medium-strength thread locker on applicable fasteners.
  • Use thread sealant on hydraulic fittings and hose couplings.
  • Follow the bleeding procedure included in the installation guide.
  • PSC 715 or TRU BLUE® power steering fluid recommended.

"I have a 04 f250 super duty that is always been hard to turn and has a lot of play in the steering wheel, and it also got really hard to turn when tow haul mode was on and slowing down even after putting on a rebuilt gear from another brand. Did some research found this PSC Big bore steering gear that I put on. Wish I would have done this a long time ago truck drives like new and it took care of all my issues I am 120% happy with PSC Big bore steering gear."

"Had a complete front end steering system installed on a 2003 Excursion and after previous red and blue ones, chose to go with the Big Bore XD, this one has zero play and was a simple installation, i did however have to cut the lower rad hose one inch as the larger casting was very close to rubbing. All in all, an awesome upgrade, 2003 Excursion 7. 3, 280000 miles and going strong. jt"
