This is the same high flow pump we use in our PK40JP1/PK40XJ1 kits. If your Jeep’s gotten a little grumpy turning big tires or your old pump started whining after the last trail day, this is the straight up replacement that bolts in and gets you back to easy steering. Built for the Jeep 4.0L, it plays nice with the XJ/YJ bracket setup and works great on daily drivers, weekend wheelers, and vehicles running Cylinder Assist®.

About:About:

Why you’ll love it

  • Stronger assist at low RPM – turns bigger tires without a wrestling match
  • Direct replacement – made to swap right into PSC kits PK40JP1/PK40XJ1

Heads‑up for installers

  • Flush the system before firing it up—old fluid and grit will kill a new pump fast.
  • Prefill the reservoir and bleed the system with the front tires off the ground.
  • Check belt alignment and tension; squeal = slip, and slip cooks pumps.
  • Reuse the fittings/hoses from your PSC kit and clock the ports where you need them.
  • Use a quality steering fluid compatible with your system. Don’t mix old and new fluids.

Fitment

  • 1987–1995 Jeep Cherokee XJ (4.0L)
  • 1990–1994 Jeep Wrangler YJ (4.0L)
  • Direct replacement for the pump used in PSC kits PK40JP1 and PK40XJ1

Use it with

  • PSC Remote Reservoir (from your PK40JP1/PK40XJ1 kit)
  • PSC Power Steering Cooler
  • PSC Inline Filter
  • PSC Cylinder Assist® system for XJ/YJ

  • HighFlow Power Steering Pump (replacement for PK40JP1/PK40XJ1 pump)
