Heads‑up for installers

Work clean - Grit is the enemy—wipe the bench, blow out passages, keep lint away.
Lightly oil seals with clean power steering fluid before install. Don’t install them dry.
Mind the lip direction on the shaft oil seal—the sealing lip faces the fluid.
Press the oil seal square - Use the proper drive tool; don’t hammer on the inner race or shaft.
Inspect the driveshaft - If it’s grooved or pitted, a new seal won’t save it.
Flush the power steering system and refill with quality power steering fluid after reassembly. Don’t mix old/new fluids.
