Heads‑up for installers
- Work clean - Grit is the enemy—wipe the bench, blow out passages, keep lint away.
- Lightly oil seals with clean power steering fluid before install. Don’t install them dry.
- Mind the lip direction on the shaft oil seal—the sealing lip faces the fluid.
- Press the oil seal square - Use the proper drive tool; don’t hammer on the inner race or shaft.
- Inspect the driveshaft - If it’s grooved or pitted, a new seal won’t save it.
- Flush the power steering system and refill with quality power steering fluid after reassembly. Don’t mix old/new fluids.
